Expansions 26/27

Four concerts, four new works, a sound cosmos between past and future – with the concert series “Expansions” Harmonic Space Orchestra presents its 2026/27 season, inviting audiences to rediscover just intonation.

With world premieres created especially for the ensemble by Catherine Lamb (US/DE), Jules Reidy (AU/DE), Idin Samimi Mofakham (IR/NO), and Wolfgang von Schweinitz (DE), four newly commissioned works each chart their own path through the universe of pure intervals.

In dialogue with these new works, central repertoire pieces of the just intonation tradition will also be performed, including works by James Tenney, Pauline Oliveros, and David Behrman. The result is a dramatic arc between generations, revealing how vital and adaptable this distinctive sound world remains to this day.
